A gem of a café, a memorable experience
Hungry from driving around some of the tourist spots of Wicklow and not having found somewhere we wanted to eat, we had the happy experience of happening upon this little café in Bridge Street, Wicklow town. It looked very crowded when we opened the door to investigate it, but a man (who turned out to be the manager/owner) immediately found another chair from somewhere to set at a table in the back and beckoned us to it. The food (Shepherd's Pie with side-salad, hot scone and the loveliest pot of tea I've ever had out) was wonderful, the buzz was friendly and there were smiles on every face (staff as well as customers). The whole atmosphere made for a memorable dining experience and my husband and I will be going back there again very soon. I can't recommend it highly enough, even if it puts me in trepidation that next time it might not be so easy to get seated.
