IMDB is outstanding!
Almost every movie I've wanted information about is in the database. Parental guides have objective descriptions of what happens so I can make up my own mind if my kids can see it.

Premier Take on Movies
IMDB is the most comprehensive movie information site on the Internet. It has listings for virtually every movie ever made. There are also DVD listings. The homepage is beautifully designed. You can see at a glance lists of the most popular current movies, what's opening next week and what's on offer in the near future. Remember, though, that if you're surfing in Europe movies are generally released later than in the US. Therefore, "Opening This Week" may not apply and "Coming Soon" might be coming later. For example, "The Blind Side", for which Sandra Bullock won an Academy Award, opened in the US in November 2009 and in London at the end of March 2010. However, it's possible to click on "Release Dates" for many European countries to see when a movie is coming your way.
The site is very easy to navigate. Clicking on a title of interest to you on the homepage gives you an overview, star rating, cast list, lots of additional details, fun stuff and user reviews. After glancing through all this material, I like to go to External Reviewers, where I have found James Berardinelli and Philip French to be the best. Even if you only watch movies on TV, it's still worth having a look at this site, as it might save you hours of watching drivel.
